These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of castme.wtf (“CastMe”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). By accessing or using the site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site.

1. The service

CastMe is a daily movie and TV guessing game provided for entertainment purposes, currently offered in three modes: Movies, TV Shows, and Connections (a grouping puzzle where you sort 16 actors into 4 sets of 4 by a shared movie or show). We may update the game, add or remove modes, change features, or suspend access at any time.

2. Eligibility

You may use CastMe if you can legally agree to these Terms in your jurisdiction. The site is intended for a general audience.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the site. This includes, but is not limited to:

• attempting to disrupt the service (e.g., attacks, abuse, or excessive automated requests)
• scraping, crawling, or automating gameplay in a way that harms performance
• reverse engineering or attempting to access non-public endpoints or data
• using the site for unlawful purposes

Account-free usage

CastMe does not require user accounts or registration to play. As a result, we do not provide account recovery, identity verification, or cross-device data synchronization. Gameplay progress stored locally may be lost if browser data is cleared or devices are changed.

By using the service, you acknowledge that this account-free structure is part of the design of CastMe and agree that loss of local progress does not constitute a service failure.

If you purchase CastMe Premium, we associate your subscription with the email address you provide at checkout so that Premium access can be restored to a new device (see “Subscriptions and billing” below). This restores your Premium status only — it does not restore or transfer your local gameplay stats, streaks, or history, which remain tied to the device and browser they were played on.

You may also choose to provide an email address (or enable browser push notifications, on supported devices) so CastMe can remind you when a new puzzle is available. This is entirely optional, separate from CastMe Premium, and is not required to play. See our Privacy Policy for details on what's collected and how to unsubscribe.

Subscriptions and billing

CastMe offers an optional paid subscription (“CastMe Premium”) that unlocks additional features such as the full puzzle archive (across Movies, TV Shows, and Connections), Hard Mode, Bot Replay, and Stats Depth. Core gameplay — the daily Movies, TV Shows, and Connections puzzles, plus the past 2 days of each archive — remains free.

Premium is billed on a recurring basis (currently monthly or annual; prices are shown at checkout and are subject to change with notice on this page or in the app). Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period until canceled. Payments are processed by Stripe, a third-party payment processor; CastMe does not receive or store your full card details.

You can cancel your subscription at any time through the “Manage subscription” option in the app, which opens Stripe’s secure Billing Portal. Cancellation stops future renewals but does not refund the current billing period. Except where required by applicable law, payments already made are non-refundable.

Because CastMe does not use accounts, Premium access is tied to the email address used at checkout. If you switch devices or clear local storage, you can restore Premium access using that email via the “Already premium on another device?” link in the app. Restore links expire after a short period for security and are not single-use.

Availability of features

Certain features, statistics, or gameplay elements may be experimental, limited, or temporary. We reserve the right to modify, disable, or remove features at any time, with or without notice.

Feature availability may vary based on technical constraints, performance considerations, or future development decisions.

Gameplay integrity

CastMe is designed to provide a fair and consistent experience for all players. While we do not enforce strict anti-cheat measures for casual play, we reserve the right to investigate and address behavior that significantly disrupts the integrity of the game or its underlying systems.

This may include activity that artificially inflates statistics, attempts to manipulate puzzle outcomes, or behavior that interferes with normal gameplay for other users. Actions taken may include limiting access to certain features or restricting use of the service.

These measures are intended to protect the quality and stability of the game, not to penalize normal or good-faith use.

4. Intellectual property

The CastMe name, site design, gameplay mechanics, and original code are owned by CastMe or its licensors. You may not copy or reuse them commercially without permission.

CastMe uses third-party movie and TV metadata. This product uses the TMDb API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDb. Movie/show titles, cast names, and related data may be owned by their respective rights holders.

5. User content

If the site allows you to submit feedback or suggestions, you grant us permission to use that feedback to improve the product without compensation.

6. Ads

CastMe may display advertisements, including ads served by Google. Ads may be personalized depending on your settings and location. We are not responsible for the content of third-party advertisements.

Third-party services and advertisements

Advertisements and third-party services displayed on CastMe are provided by external partners. While we strive to work with reputable providers, we do not control the content, accuracy, or availability of third-party advertisements.

Interactions with advertisements or external services are governed by the terms and privacy policies of those third parties. CastMe is not responsible for transactions, offers, or claims made by advertisers or external sites.

You acknowledge that third-party content is provided for convenience and that any engagement with such content is at your own discretion and risk.

Service availability

CastMe is provided on an “as available” basis. While we aim to keep the site accessible at all times, access may occasionally be interrupted due to maintenance, updates, outages, or technical issues beyond our control.

We do not guarantee that daily puzzles will always be available at a specific time, and we reserve the right to modify or pause puzzle releases if necessary.

Changes to the game

The gameplay experience, features, rules, and difficulty may change over time. These changes are intended to improve the game or address technical limitations, but they may alter how puzzles function or how results are calculated.

Your continued use of CastMe after changes are made constitutes acceptance of those changes.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by and interpreted in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes arising from use of the site will be handled in the appropriate jurisdiction.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is determined to be unlawful, void, or unenforceable, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.

Entire agreement

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and CastMe regarding use of the site and supersede all prior or contemporaneous understandings, agreements, or representations, whether written or oral.

No failure to enforce any provision of these Terms shall be considered a waiver of that provision or any other provision.

7. Disclaimers

CastMe is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the site will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Assignment

You may not assign or transfer these Terms, in whole or in part, without prior written consent. CastMe may assign or transfer these Terms as part of a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or sale of assets.

Any attempted assignment in violation of this section shall be null and void. These Terms will remain binding on permitted successors and assigns.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CastMe will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or profits arising from your use of the site.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms at any time by posting an updated version on this page. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
